Recombinant human PDCD1/PD1 protein aa1-165 was produced in mammalian cells with C-terminal DYKDDDDK tag. The theoretical molecular weight of PDCD1/PD1a is 19.9 kDa.Purified PDCD1/PD1 protein is near the position of 34 kDa on SDS-PAGE gel under reduced condition.
PDCD1/PD1 protein is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

This gene encodes a cell surface membrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This protein is expressed in pro-B-cells and is thought to play a role in their differentiation. In mice, expression of this gene is induced in the thymus when anti-CD3 antibodies are injected and large numbers of thymocytes undergo apoptosis.
