孕酮（Progesterone）又稱為黃體酮，是卵巢分泌的具有生物活性的主要孕激素，負(fù)責(zé)與生殖有關(guān)的活動(dòng)，如乳房腺體發(fā)育、參與月經(jīng)周期以及妊娠的建立和維持。此外，孕酮還參與支持妊娠期間的生理過程，包括糖類、蛋白質(zhì)和脂質(zhì)代謝的變化、體溫調(diào)節(jié)、腎小管對(duì)鈉的重吸收以及肺泡和心房二氧化碳分壓（pCO2）的降低。孕酮和雌性激素的關(guān)系密不可分，兩者都是相當(dāng)重要的女性激素。雌性激素的作用主要是促使女性第二性征發(fā)育成熟，而孕酮?jiǎng)t是在雌激素作用的基礎(chǔ)上，進(jìn)一步促進(jìn)第二性征的發(fā)育成熟，兩者之間有協(xié)同作用。
